The most important thing to know is that dogs aren’t allowed on every beach during the peak summer season. Each municipality sets its own rules, but many regular beaches ban dogs during the day. Access is often permitted only early in the morning or in the evening. So it’s always worth checking the local regulations.

Don’t forget:
– water and a bowl,
– poop bags,
– a leash (mandatory in most places),
– a muzzle – under Italian regulations the owner should carry one in case it’s needed, along with the dog’s vaccination record and microchip.
