A Holiday in Sardinia with Your Dog? Yes! You Just Need to Know the Rules

Sardinia is a paradise for everyone. If you’re planning to travel with your dog, I have a few practical tips for you.

The most important thing to know is that dogs aren’t allowed on every beach during the peak summer season. Each municipality sets its own rules, but many regular beaches ban dogs during the day. Access is often permitted only early in the morning or in the evening. So it’s always worth checking the local regulations.

Dog Beaches

The good news is that Sardinia has more and more beaches dedicated specifically to dogs. Here you’ll find a map of all the dog-friendly beaches.

What will you need?

Don’t forget:

– water and a bowl,

– poop bags,

– a leash (mandatory in most places),

– a muzzle – under Italian regulations the owner should carry one in case it’s needed, along with the dog’s vaccination record and microchip.

My tip ❤️

Dogs are welcome in Sardinia as long as their owners respect the rules. If you clean up after your pet and are considerate of other visitors, you’ll enjoy a wonderful holiday together.
