Sardinia is famous for iconic beaches like La Pelosa, Cala Mariolu and the Costa Smeralda. But the island also hides beaches that few people know about. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, unspoiled nature and turquoise water without the crowds, these are the spots that will win you over.

1. Su Sirboni (Ogliastra)

A hidden beach surrounded by Mediterranean scrub, red rocks and white sand. It’s reached by a short walking trail, and your reward is complete tranquillity.

2. Oasi di Seu (Sinis)

This small beach in the protected Sinis area is perfect for snorkelling fans. The path leads through fragrant Mediterranean scrub, and the place has kept its wild character to this day.

3. Murtas (Villaputzu)

A beach more than six kilometres long, with fine sand and colourful pebbles. Thanks to its location it stays surprisingly quiet even in high season.

4. Cala Cipolla (Chia)

A picturesque cove tucked between granite rocks and pine trees. The water here is crystal clear and ideal for snorkelling.

5. Piscinas (Costa Verde)

One of Sardinia’s most breathtaking beaches, dominated by huge sand dunes that rank among the highest in Europe. A true paradise for photographers and nature lovers alike.

6. Cala Brigantina (Caprera)

You can only get here by a fairly demanding hike or by boat. Your reward is an almost deserted cove with wonderfully clear water.

7. Coccorocci (Ogliastra)

8. Caletta di San Giovanni di Sinis
